Supervisor – Read to Achieve Summer Camp

Job Summary:
The Read to Achieve Summer Camp Supervisor is responsible for the overall administration and successful operation of the summer camp program. This includes overseeing personnel, ensuring student success, managing transportation logistics, and maintaining student attendance records. The supervisor will collaborate closely with the district's Literacy Specialist and Chief Academic Officer to implement a structured literacy program that aligns with state guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:

Personnel & Instructional Oversight:
- Supervise and support summer camp teachers and staff.
- Ensure instructional practices align with the goals of the Read to Achieve program.
- Facilitate professional collaboration and problem-solving among staff.

Student Supervision & Attendance Management:
- Monitor student attendance and follow up on absences.
- Address any student-related concerns and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Ensure students are engaged in daily reading instruction tailored to their needs.

Testing & Assessment Administration:
- Oversee the administration of the 3rd-grade reading assessment at the conclusion of the camp.
- Ensure proper testing protocols are followed.

Transportation & Logistics:
- Oversee and coordinate student bus routes.
- Ensure transportation requests are processed accurately from student registration forms.
- Communicate transportation details to families as needed.

Daily Operations & Student Services:
- Ensure students have access to breakfast and lunch through the School Nutrition program.
- Coordinate recess and structured break times to provide a balanced schedule.
- Address any operational concerns and communicate with district leadership as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Current North Carolina educator license required.
- Administrative or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with elementary students and literacy instruction preferred.
Compensation:
- Rate of pay is based on the North Carolina state salary scale.
Work Schedule:
- The position is temporary for the duration of the Read to Achieve Summer Camp.
- Work hours and dates will be determined based on program needs.
