Behavioral Specialist- Lehigh Valley Area

Person Directed Supports, Inc. has an open position for a full time behavioral specialist working with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates/promotes a culture centered on building self-directed lives with the people we support.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and reviews all facets of the behavioral services for individuals on their specific case load using person centered planning and evidence based interventions.
- Creates Behavior Support Plans for people in the assigned caseload based upon needs of individuals and their teams input.
- Provides trainings related to Behavior Support and Services to support staff and teams as needed.
- Promotes a positive working relationship with all employees, teams, outside agencies and families.
- Assures the Behavior Support Plans are updated and supporters of individuals are trained on plans.
- Assures Behavioral Supports Units are provided as instructed.
- Creates Behavioral Support plans based upon positive interventions for supports.
- Observes and provides services in various settings in order to gather data and cohesiveness of support planning. (family homes, community, agency, day programs, etc.)
- Evaluates and assesses behaviors based upon team input and data.
- Conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments for individuals supported.
- Completes paperwork relevant to behavioral supports department
- Collaborates with teams and individuals to provide best practice supports to individuals supported.
- Participate in trainings to further knowledge base and education.
- Travel across services regions when necessary
- Completes other duties as assigned by Person Directed Supports, Inc.
Job Requirements
A Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited College or University.
Two years experience working with people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis.
Clinical License preferred.
Traveling is required within the Northeast region including but not limited to Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas, Monroe County, and Bucks County.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
