Person Directed Supports, Inc. has an open position for a full time Behavioral Specialist In-Home Support who will work directly with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provided one-on-one intervention to an adult at home and at other community-based program sites or community settings to support the adult in developing skills and important behaviors.
- Provide onsite crisis intervention techniques. Immediate behavioral reinforcements
- Plans, organizes, directs, and reviews all facets of the behavioral services for individual using person centered planning and evidence based interventions.
- Creates Behavioral Support plans based upon positive interventions for supports.
- Creates/promotes a culture centered on building self-directed lives with the people we support.
- Commitment and dedication to BBHS, LLC mission and core values.
- Ability to communicate successfully with client, vendors and team members.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Observes and provides services in various settings in order to gather data and cohesiveness of support planning.
- Evaluates and assesses behaviors based upon team input and data.
- Completes paperwork relevant to behavioral supports department
- Collaborates with teams and individuals to provide best practice supports to individuals supported.
- Participate in trainings to further knowledge base and education.
- Completes other duties as assigned by Person Directed Supports, Inc.
Job Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited College or University. Two years experience working with people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis.
