Clinically Enhanced Direct Support Professional

Person Directed Supports has immediate openings for Clinically Enhanced Direct Support Professionals in the Lehigh and Northampton County areas. Experience working with Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health Diagnosis' and complex behavioral support needs is required for this position. Supporters must be available to work either 8 hour or 12 hour shifts and must be willing to actively continue to support people with challenging behavioral needs through everyday life activities. Dual Diagnosis Supporter:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health Diagnosis' and complex behavioral support needs is required.
• Clean criminal record
• Reliable transportation and valid PA license with a good driving history
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.

We are a human services agency dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families so they can create and enjoy happy and meaningful lives. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work directly with the people we support assisting with meals, daily living skills, and community outings, among many other things.

You will assist individuals with at the person's community living home. Duties may include keeping house (making beds, doing laundry, washing dishes) and preparing meals as well as advising families and individuals regarding such things as nutrition, cleanliness, and household activities.

Additional responsibilities of the Clinically Enhanced Direct Supporter:

• Preparing and maintaining records of individual progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor
• Caring for individuals providing companionship, personal care, or help in adjusting to new lifestyles
• Planning, shopping for, or preparing nutritious meals or assisting families in planning, shopping for, or preparing nutritious meals
• Transporting clients to locations outside the home, such as to physicians' offices or on outings, using a motor vehicle.
• Instructing or advise individuals on issues such as household cleanliness, utilities, hygiene, or nutrition
• Successful completion of the NADD-DSP certification within 6 months of hire or the ability to provide a current NADD-DSP Certificate.
• Ability to attend bi-weekly Supervision meetings with management and the behavior supports team.
