POSITION
Music Therapist
POSITION PURPOSE
The Music Therapist will provide services for The Child and Family Therapy Center of Denver. Sessions will take place in the client's home and at our offices and may also take place via telehealth. The Music Therapist will be responsible for providing music therapeutic treatment services in a professional and qualified manner. The Music Therapist shall be responsible for maintaining all required licensure, education and supervision required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides individual and group music therapy to clients.
- Schedules patient assessments and therapeutic sessions.
- Evaluates patient capabilities and develops a treatment plan of musical activities adapted to the needs, interests, abilities and medical history of patients.
- Administers established professional treatment procedures; teaches and guides patients utilizing the treatment activities of the field of music therapy.
- Establishes therapeutic goals for individuals and plans programs to meet these goals.
- Periodically evaluates patient's progress toward established goals.
- Maintains clinical notes and records.
- Coordinates the music therapy program with other services such as clinical, psychological and social service in order to accomplish overall therapeutic goals.
- Conducts prescribed therapy projects involving special instruction in vocal and instrumental music.
- Facilitates music therapy groups for patients and their families.
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy (or related degree) with a concentration or special interest in mental, emotional, and behavioral health of children.
- Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) designation.
- One (1) year experience providing music therapeutic treatment services to children.
- Active driver's license
- Evening availability
- Experience working with clients with terminal or chronic illnesses and / or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to write reports identifying patient goals, outcomes and interventions.
