Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent as-built surveys of underground mining excavations and other related features daily.
- Utilize surveying equipment and technology to collect and analyze data accurately.
- Collaborate with engineers, mining teams, and supervisors to ensure underground excavation activities comply with project plans and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of surveying activities, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Adhere to MSHA regulations and site safety protocols while conducting surveys.
- Continuously develop technical skills, including seeking licensure or further education in surveying.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall mining operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations related to site safety.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using surveying tools and software to conduct accurate measurements.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
- Previous experience in the mining industry or underground surveying is a plus.
- Willingness to pursue additional certifications or licensure in surveying.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong coordination with engineering teams.
