Pay: $16 per hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a kind, responsible, and compassionate individual to serve as a "Big Brother" for an 18-year-old young man with autism. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life by becoming a friend and mentor. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model and provide companionship, social interaction, and support.
The individual we are seeking is a great kid who enjoys spending time with others and is looking for a friend to hang out with. He lives with his mom, but she is busy with other commitments and would appreciate assistance in providing him with regular social support. This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a young adult while working flexible hours.
Responsibilities:
- Spend quality time with the young man (hanging out, going for walks, playing games, or participating in other fun activities).
- Provide social interaction and emotional support.
- Assist with transportation if needed (must have a car).
- Help foster positive behavior and communication skills.
- Offer companionship and create a positive, safe, and fun environment.
Requirements:
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (car required).
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus, but not required.
- Patience, empathy, and a friendly attitude.
- Availability for 4-5 hours per day, 2-3 times per week (weekdays or weekends are both options).
Schedule:
- Flexible; weekdays and weekends available.
Compensation:
- $16 per hour.
