Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients by offering personalized care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities. This role requires a nurturing attitude and the ability to work independently while ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. This is a Live-In position, requiring the availability to stay on shift 5 to7 days a week with every other weekend.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including incontinence care, bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene.
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Provide medication reminder as directed by healthcare professionals and monitor medication schedules.
- Offer direct support to clients in maintaining their independence and dignity.
- Ensure resident rights are respected and upheld at all times.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including accompanying clients to appointments.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Monitor and document care provided, communicate changes in the client's condition with family and healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience as a caregiver or in-home Preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
- Experience with dementia patients and hospice care is required
- Proficiency in using a Hoyer lift is essential
- Availability to work 7 days a week on a live-in basis
- Strong ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and demonstrate professionalism
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate attitude are a MUST
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients, families and the care team is essential.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality care are crucial for success in this role.
- Must pass state and national background checks
