What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychologist - Postdoctoral Position position at Personal Growth Associates?
Personal Growth Associates is a well-established behavioral health group practice that takes pride in its excellent team of therapists. We are a large private practice with a diverse team of clinicians in three different locations. Having served the Northwest suburbs for over 20 years, we have an excellent reputation in the community.
Personal Growth Associates is a collaborative team of 10 licensed psychologists, 6 licensed clinical social workers and professional counselors, and 4 doctoral level clinicians working towards licensure. Our team of psychologists and therapists provide psychological support from multiple different theoretical approaches and interventions to meet the unique needs of our clients. Trainees will be exposed to offer diverse clinical specialties: Adlerian, Attachment-based, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Culturally Sensitive, Dialectical (DBT), EMDR, Humanistic, Imago, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Interpersonal, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT), Person-Centered, Play Therapy, Psychodynamic, Psychological Testing and Evaluation, Sand Tray, and Trauma-Focused. We have a special interest in Internal Family Systems (IFS, a mindfulness-based and evidence-based treatment) and Imago couples therapy. Our group of clinical supervisors includes clinicians who are highly trained and/or certified in IFS and Imago-based psychotherapy.
Personal Growth Associates believes that in order for every clinician to do their best work, it is essential to continue learning and growing. We are unique in that we dedicate a lot of time for our own supervision and ongoing learning. Every therapist at Personal Growth Associates is part of a group supervision where we explore our cases, as well as learn about ourselves to improve the work. In addition, we provide individual supervision that helps people learn from various theoretical approaches and realize their own gifts and blocks to the process.
We work closely with clients across the life span. Our clients come from various backgrounds and present with a range of concerns, including but not limited to: ADHD, Anxiety, Autism Spectrum, Behavioral Issues, Bipolar Disorder, Chronic Illness, Depression, Dual Diagnosis, Eating Disorder, Emotional Disturbance, Family Conflict, Grief, LGBTQ , Life Transitions, Marital and Premarital, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Oppositional Defiance, Parenting, Self-Esteem, Sleep, Sports Performance, Stress, Substance Use, Testing and Evaluation, and Trauma and PTSD.
Our administrative staff and billing team are experienced and highly efficient, thus allowing clinicians to devote their focus to the client.
We are currently interviewing Postdoctoral candidates. We have trained several post-docs over the years and have offered them full-time positions once their training year was over. This is a hybrid teletherapy/in-person position. Psychological testing opportunities are available. Health insurance and retirement plan benefits are available for full-time employees. If you are a self-motivated, driven, therapist looking to be part of a diverse team of behavioral health professionals, please contact Joseph Ripp, Psy.D., 847-413-9700, ext. 315 or e-mail your cover letter and resume to admin@personalgrowthassoc.com
