Home Health Clinical Educator

Job Description
The Home Health Clinical Educator is responsible for providing education and training to clinical home health staff, including nurses and therapists. The Clinical Educator will develop and implement training programs to ensure that staff are knowledgeable and competent in providing high-quality care to patients in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs for home health clinical staff; including assessing all educational needs, planning, developing and delivering appropriate education and training, and evaluating education outcomes
- Implement and continually monitor clinical orientation and onboarding process for all newly hired clinical staff
- Implement and continually monitor the training of all preceptors to verify orientation content and schedule are appropriate for achieving role independence
- Provide ongoing education and training to staff to ensure they are up-to-date on best practices and new developments in home health care
- Assess staff competency and provide feedback and coaching as needed
- Develops, implements, maintains and evaluates individual educations programs that include a variety of delivery methods (i.e. instructor led trainings, online trainings, train the trainer sessions, hands-on demonstrations, LMS modules, and videos)
- Deliver information thoroughly and effectively utilizing a variety of teaching styles and techniques
- Functions as an educational advisor and subject matter expert for clinical staff (RN/PT/OT/ST/MSW/PTA/COTA)
- Collaborate with other members of the home health team to ensure that QI educational plans coincide with operational goals
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of staff training and competency assessments
- Conducts annual learning needs assessment and provides educational programs for the clinical staff identified from the learning needs assessment
- Tracks home health staff education requirements quarterly and as needed and facilitates opportunities for clinical staff to meet these requirements
- Serves as an educational consultant, and clinical expert, for PHC to facilitate projects relating to policy, procedure, program development and compliance
- Stay up-to-date on regulations and standards related to home health care
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a current license in the state of North Carolina; Multi-state accepted at Hire
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in home health care
- Experience in staff education and training required
- BLS/CPR
- Current Driver's License in good standing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
