Responsibilities:
- Assist the QI RN in reviewing patient charts to ensure they meet state, federal, and local regulatory requirements.
- Ensure documentation adheres to agency standards and meets the requirements of insurance providers.
- Conduct regular chart audits to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Identify potential discrepancies or areas of non-compliance and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
- Support the QI RN in tracking performance metrics and reporting on trends related to compliance and quality.
- Maintain and organize QI records, ensuring all documentation is easily accessible and up to date.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and ensure documentation standards are consistently followed.
- Assist in preparing for audits, surveys, and other regulatory reviews.
- Stay informed of changes in regulations and insurance requirements, and assist in ensuring the agency adapts accordingly.
- Provide administrative support to the QI RN as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare or home care settings is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies in medical records.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and insurance expectations for home care services.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards is essential.
