Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elder Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to a senior in his home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a blend of practical skills and emotional intelligence to effectively assist clients with daily living activities and promote their independence.
Responsibilities
- Make sure he completes the following tasks daily: bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor patients' health and report any concerns.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Transport to and from appointments as needed. Client transportation provided.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, nursing home settings, or senior care is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and medication administration is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals who have early onset dementia is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a collaborative care team.
