Custodian/Handyman Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently.
Duties
-Assist with assembly of desks/chairs/shelves and other items to support the setup and ongoing operation of the space
- Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Conduct commercial cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces
- Help with facilities maintenance tasks to ensure the overall upkeep of the building
- Handle industrial cleaning duties as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Serve as a porter by managing waste disposal and recycling efforts throughout the premises
Building shelves, touch up painting, other tasks
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests and maintain an organized supply inventory
- Stocking of supplies in designated areas including office and shipping supplies
-Lifting up to and including 50lbs
Qualifications
General ability to assemble/build
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning is preferred
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation is beneficial
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work responsibilities
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting or moving equipment

Expected hours: 40 per week M-F 8-4:30 with a 30-minute lunch
