Job responsibilities
- Prep orders for dispensing
- Dispense patient medications using automated equipment
- Dispense patient medications manually (bottles/vials, unit of use)
- Prepare orders for pharmacist final verification
- Mark items out of stock and reverse status when drugs are received
- Order medications using our internal drug ordering system
- Work with pharmacists and patient care specialists on shipments as needed
- Ensure that patient data is protected as required by HIPAA regulations
- Be compliant with all company training requirements
All functions or duties of the pharmacy technicians shall be performed under the direct supervision of the pharmacists on duty. The pharmacists on duty will be working in close proximity with the pharmacy technicians to ensure adequate control or supervision and shall verify and document registered pharmacy technician work. You are on your feet for an 8-hour shift.
Note: staff may be cross trained in other related pharmacy jobs.
