We are a world-renowned, Michelin-starred omakase restaurant located in Downtown Manhattan. Our 10-seat counter offers an intimate, elevated dining experience that blends traditional Japanese culinary techniques with modern finesse. Honored with a 4-star rating from The New York Times, our restaurant is considered one of the premier destinations for omakase in New York City β known for its elegant service, pristine ingredients flown in from Japan, and a deep sense of hospitality.
Weβre currently seeking a passionate and detail-driven General Manager / Sommelier to lead our front-of-house operations, guide service with poise, and manage a sophisticated beverage program.

π A Smooth and Supportive TransitionThe current GM, who has led the team with distinction for the past three years, is relocating and will provide full support and training during the handoff. The transition is collaborative, with the full blessing and support of the ownership and team.

Days Off: Sundays one weekday (typically Monday or Wednesday)

Manage day-to-day service operations and team performance

Lead and train a highly professional FOH team with grace and warmth

Ensure exceptional guest experiences from start to finish

Oversee staff scheduling and weekly payroll
-
Hire and onboard staff with written approval from ownership

Maintain compliance with all regulations (DOH, SLA, etc.)

Monitor guest reservations and communications (via Tock)

Serve as the main point of contact for guest inquiries and special requests

Handle post-service reporting and performance tracking

Provide administrative support to chefs and international staff when needed

Curate and manage a beverage program with a focus on:

Sake

Champagne

White & Red Burgundy

German Riesling
-
Premium Tea Selections

Maintain beverage inventory, vendor relationships, and ordering

Collaborate with ownership and chefs to align beverage with seasonal menus

Lead staff training and education on wine, sake, and pairings
-
Build and maintain a CRM that captures client preferences and feedback

Deliver truly personalized hospitality for returning and VIP guests
-
Elevate the overall dining room flow and ensure service is seamless

5 years of fine dining leadership experience (GM, AGM, Beverage Manager, Sommelier)

Michelin or luxury restaurant background strongly preferred

Deep knowledge of wine and sake; certifications such as CMS, WSET, or Sake Sommelier are a plus

Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and a presence on the floor

Japanese cultural fluency or language skills are a significant bonus

Proficiency with Tock, Toast, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe software

A deep appreciation for omakase-style service and Japanese hospitality

Valid U.S. work authorization
