Healthcare Intake Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Healthcare Intake Manager to oversee the intake and onboarding process for patients receiving in-home wound care services. This role is critical in ensuring seamless coordination between patients, referral sources, and clinical teams to facilitate timely and appropriate care. The ideal candidate has experience in healthcare intake, a strong understanding of insurance verification, and excellent communication skills to manage patient referrals and authorizations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
· Patient Intake & Coordination
o Serve as the primary point of contact for new patient referrals, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
o Gather and verify necessary patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance details.
o Communicate with patients, families, and caregivers to explain the intake process, care plan, and expectations.
· Referral & Insurance Management
o Review and process referrals from hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
o Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and confirm coverage for wound care services.
o Work closely with billing and administrative teams to resolve any insurance or documentation issues.
· Collaboration & Communication
o Coordinate with clinical staff to schedule in-home wound care visits based on patient needs and provider availability.
o Maintain open communication with referral sources and ensure proper documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
o Serve as a liaison between patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
· Compliance & Documentation
o Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare policies regarding patient information and documentation.
o Maintain accurate records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
o Stay up to date with industry regulations, payer policies, and best practices in wound care management.
Qualifications:
· Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field preferred.
· Experience: 2 years of experience in healthcare intake, case management, or a related role, preferably in home healthcare or wound care.
· Skills & Competencies:
o Strong knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical billing processes.
o Excellent communication and customer service skills.
o Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
o Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
