Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably in personal injury law, and will be adept at managing a variety of administrative and legal tasks to support our attorneys and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and trial exhibits.
- Maintain and manage case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information and evidence.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and client meetings.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Draft and manage correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and coordinating logistics.
- Perform administrative duties such as managing calendars, billing, and time entry.
Qualifications:
- must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or secretary, preferably in personal injury law.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document formatting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
