We are currently seeking a strategic and relationship-focused Director of Business Development to drive growth and market expansion for our Construction Group. This is an opportunity for a results-driven professional to identify new business opportunities, foster strategic partnerships, and secure profitable projects while building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Pre-Construction, Project Management, and Field Operations teams to ensure alignment across all phases of business development
  • Review and track prospective bids in the market and maintain the Bid Calendar for the Construction Group
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating bid documents, ensuring all project requirements, timelines, costs, and specifications are met
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure high-quality, comprehensive proposal submissions
  • Analyze and assess bid opportunities to confirm alignment with company capabilities and strategic market focus
  • Review, proofread, and finalize bid documents and proposals to ensure accuracy and professional presentation
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and participate in all aspects of the bidding process
  • Engage with local market stakeholders, including Developers, Owners' Representatives, Architects, Engineers, and Owners
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients to generate future business opportunities
  • Manage post-bid activities, following up with clients until contracts are awarded
  • Participate in industry conferences and events to stay ahead of trends and expand construction knowledge
  • Communicate activity, updates, and changes across the Construction Group
  • Develop and execute business strategies to enhance the company's market position
  • Continuously seek out new business opportunities to drive company growth and market expansion

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong communication skills with a focus on honesty and integrity in all interactions
  • In-depth understanding of construction processes, terminology, industry standards, and market trends
  • Experience in bid management and coordination, with proficiency in proposal writing and business development
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction/Science, or related field (preferred)
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of bid submissions
  • Strong negotiation skills and business acumen
  • Ability to adapt to changes in project requirements, deadlines, and client expectations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with construction project management software
  • Self-driven, able to work independently as well as collaboratively with teams
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
