They are responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and driving revenue through effective sales strategies. This position must be able to develop and secure new projects, maintain client relationships, and work alongside each team in the Construction Group. This requires an individual with a diverse skill set, effective communication, able to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and work well in a team.
Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with all branches of the Pre-Construction team, as well as Project Management and Field Operations.
- Review the bid market and track prospective bids.
- Keep the Bid Calendar for the Construction Group updated and communicate with the Team.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of bid documents to make sure they meet all requirements by addressing any specifications, project timelines, costs, or other relevant details.
- Coordinate with the Marketing/Proposal Writer.
- Analyze prospective bid opportunities to confirm if they align with the company’s capabilities and market focus.
- Review and proofread bid documents and/or proposals to ensure accuracy, clarity, and a professional presentation.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings.
- Stay involved in the local market and network with Developers, Owners Representatives, Architects, Engineers, or Owners to develop new job opportunities.
- Stay engaged with key stakeholders to help maintain strong relationships.
- Manage post bid activities, follow up with clients until a contractor is awarded or a contract signed.
- Participate in conferences and events to stay ahead of industry trends, continually growing construction knowledge, and making industry connections to build future relationships.
- Communicate all activity, updates, changes, etc. across the Construction Group.
- Developing and implementing effective business strategies: Creating and executing strategies to enhance the company’s market position and increase its competitive advantage.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities: Continuously seeking out potential clients and markets for expansion to drive business growth.
- Excellent communication skills and puts Honesty and Integrity at the forefront of all interactions with others.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology, industry standards, etc.
- Proficient in bid management and coordination.
- Background in proposal writing, marketing skills, or business development preferred.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate with various Groups at Persons Services.
- Acute attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of bid submissions.
- Negotiation skills strongly encouraged.
- Adaptable to changes in project requirements, deadlines, client expectations.
- Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project; familiarity with construction project management software is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and in Teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Construction/Science or similar field is preferred.
- Able to work in an office setting in conjunction with others.
- Minimal physical activities.
- Some travel may be required, but relatively minor.
