Key Responsibilities
- Attend daily tool-box JSA meetings and perform 3 JSA field audits throughout the day for completeness and effectiveness
- Conduct weekly documented inspections for each project and at least 4 BBS safety observations per week
- Audit equipment inspection processes and provide guidance to Project Management teams
- Ensure accountability for all project HSE department members, including adherence to company policies
- Oversee project HSE incentive programs and review for effectiveness
- Promptly advise project superintendent, Project Manager, and Corporate Safety Director of any HSE incidents
- Assist with development and implementation of Project Specific HSE Plans
- Provide information on applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulations
- Ensure proper archiving of all project HSE documentation in appropriate software platforms
- Develop and assist with conducting project-specific HSE orientations
- Support supervisors with on-site Job Safety Analysis Program (JSA)
- Assist in researching and selecting medical facilities for project requirements
- Coordinate investigations for all health, safety, and environmental incidents
- Arrange, verify, and deliver required project HSE training as needed
- Maintain training database to ensure all training is current for assigned projects
- Support preparation of agenda and materials for HSE committee meetings
- Oversee alcohol and drug screening program, including monthly random testing
- Verify site supervisors have adequately prepared employees for emergency response situations
- Promote and exhibit an unwavering commitment to safety and our core values
- Minimum 3 years of relevant safety experience in construction or industrial settings
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation
- Ability to quickly recognize and mitigate environmental and behavioral risks
- Knowledge of construction industry safety regulations and best practices
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on honesty and integrity
- Self-driven, able to work both independently and collaboratively with teams
