Job Purpose:
Perspectives seeks a dynamic educator with relevant IT sector experience to design
curriculum, teach and inspire students, and lead students to success on certification
exams, all through the lens of A Disciplined Life, Perspectives' socioemotional learning
curriculum.
The ideal candidate relishes the opportunity to shape a new program in
his/her vision and takes personal responsibility for outstanding and transformative
student outcomes.
Essential Functions:
- Design curriculum
- Ensure proper maintenance of IT equipment
- Participate in relevant professional development
- Maintain partnership with external organizations that provide real-life industry exposure and experience to students
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or more in Computer Science or a related field.
- Knowledge base to create engaging curriculum
- Capable of teaching students in beginner and advanced levels of HTML, CSS,
- JavaScript, PHP, or another technical specialty
- MySQL and other fundamental programming languages.
- Teach how to write computer programs and program websites.
- Instruct students on how computers work, including the basic science and mathematics behind
- Their operation and the hardware and the software built on those foundations.
- Advocate of building strong character values
- Read and stay abreast of current topics in computer science or related fields.
- Strong desire to inspire and challenge students.
- Tutor students on an individual basis and group basis.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a school setting and office environment. This role routinely uses
standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by
an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the
ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend
work as job duties demand.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may
be expected
