Perstorp Polyols, Inc., located in Toledo, Ohio, is an established International Chemical Manufacturing Facility, and we are looking for additional talent to join us!
Job Type: Full time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Day Shift (40 hours per week), 7AM-3PM
The position primarily involves working straight days, with occasional shift work, turnarounds, call outs, and mandatory overtime. The role includes installing, maintaining, calibrating, repairing, and troubleshooting plant electrical systems and process control instrumentation. Technicians work throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoors, often exposed to weather elements, heat, dust, noise, and vibration. The site involves hazardous materials under pressure and elevated temperatures and may require working at heights on vessels and towers or in confined spaces.

- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of electrical and instrumentation systems supporting production and control equipment, facilities, buildings, and grounds in our manufacturing environment.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and components, including low voltage (120V – 480V) systems (e.g., MCCs, Switchgear, Disconnects, distribution panels, drives, transformers, motors) conduit installation and cable pulling, lighting, intrinsically safe, and explosion-proof electrical practices.
- Installing, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of Instrumentation (e.g., pressure, temperature, level, flow, vibration, transmitters), Automation Equipment (prox. switches, limits, photo eyes, pneumatic solenoids), Standalone human machine interface (HMI) and HMI workstations, Control Valves / Actuators, Fire and gas detection systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot ESD and safety interlock systems (SIS), including tubing.
- Lead by example and ensure adherence to all site safety standards.
- 3 years of Journeyman level electrical and instrumentation experience in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Preferred: Associates of Science, Certificate of Achievement, Certificate of Accomplishment from an accredited/approved program in the following fields: Electrical and Instrumentation. High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and instrument control systems. Capable of calibrating pneumatic, electronic, and digital instrumentation. Experienced in industrial automation systems.
- Basic understanding of computer networking and process technology. Familiar with NEC, ISA, and federal, state, and local regulations for the repair, service, and installation of industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, Signal Flow Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Panel Drawings, One-Line Drawings, Loop Sheets, and Wire Lists. Skilled in understanding technical publications, manuals, and schematics for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Basic mechanical skills and proficiency with common hand tools. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
