Operate and Maintain Equipment: Monitor, operate, and conduct preventive maintenance on chemical process units, ensuring adherence to safe operating practices and plant safety rules. Perform minor maintenance and oversee repairs by preparing equipment and supervising maintenance personnel.

Process Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Make rounds to check equipment operation, detect and report process disturbances, troubleshoot issues, make necessary adjustments, and communicate deficiencies to the Shift Manager. Accurately read and record levels, pressures, temperatures, and other operational components.

Safety and Compliance: Safely start up and shut down equipment, ensure compliance with Control of Work (CoW) and process safety policies, and apply appropriate procedures or checklists. Immediately report any environmental releases, equipment malfunctions, or safety incidents to supervision.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation and reporting of all work performed, including equipment repairs and process adjustments. Communicate pertinent information to the next shift for a smooth transition and ensure all filing functions are completed.

Work Environment and Tools: Maintain cleanliness and order in all work areas, including equipment, tools, and control rooms. Safely operate portable power tools and ensure all equipment and areas are left in good operating condition.

Team Collaboration and Compliance: Understand and follow written and verbal orders, work as a team member to achieve operational goals, and actively participate in EHSQ programs. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and site health, safety, security, and environmental rules.

Educational and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a chemical plant, refinery, power plant, or similar industry, with experience in distillation, filtration, separation, storage, shipping, and chemical reactions preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of batch and continuous chemical manufacturing, experience with Emerson Delta V DCS, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to read and understand technical documents including PFDs and P&IDs, with basic lab and mechanical skills.

Communication and Computer Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills. Basic typing skills for interfacing with process computers and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Physical and Work Environment: Routinely exposed to various environmental conditions such as extreme climate changes, dirt, dust, loud noises, and chemicals. Ability to maintain a stationary position, perform physical tasks (climb, bend, lift up to 50 pounds), and operate equipment like forklifts and man-lifts.

Work Conditions and Scheduling: Availability for 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, with on-call and overtime as needed. Ability to comply with site regulations for PPE and clearances (e.g., annual physical, respirator fit test).
