Animal Care/Fish Care Associate

Job Summary
The Animal Care Associate plays a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to animals in our facility. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the animals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, experience in pet care, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Maintain clean and safe living environments for all animals.
• Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments.
• Support dog training initiatives and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and security.
• Participate in kennel operations, including cleaning and organizing supplies.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the facility.

Skills

• Experience with heavy lifting as it pertains to animal handling and care.
• Strong background in pet care and general animal care practices.
• Familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology is a plus.
• Proficient in dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods.
• Knowledge of dog training principles is beneficial.
• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 28 per week
