What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at Pet's Barn?
Warehouse Supervisor oversees all operations and employees that support the frontline
retail stores in the warehouse from receiving product that is to be stocked and pulled, to
reviewing and editing transfer orders for stores, to the delivery of orders. The supervisor
is also responsible for all equipment to include maintenance, registrations / taxes and
inventory of equipment.
Task and Responsibilities:
- Be able to perform, track and asses all positions under the supervisor
- Track incoming shipments of product.
- Schedule and plan labor to have all deliveries ship on schedule with no overtime
unless approved.
- Open/close the warehouse in time for work shifts.
- Review and process store orders and release the orders to scan gun operators for
fulfillment.
- Complete morning deposits and ensure they make it to the bank.
- Check all non-pulled items from orders to ensure nothing is missed. (exceptions)
- Train employees on tasks and responsibilities.
- Train employees on equipment handling and safety procedures.
- Provide customer service to wholesale customers when issues arise or the
warehouse manager is out.
- Inventory warehouse stock.
- Receive any unanticipated direction and or tasks from upper management and
find solutions to complete tasks.
- Collect, inspect and file driver logs while entering mileage and fuel data into
spreadsheets in order to file quarterly taxes for both Texas and New Mexico.
- Keep track of DOT regulations and compliance for company driver(s) and
truck(s).
- Keep track of registrations and inspections to keep company’s vehicles street
legal.
- Collect load corrections from Warehouse Manager and review data to ensure
quality control and support associate assessments.
- Receive treat department purchase orders, convert to bag order and pull or
delegate pulling of order. Check pulled order and ring up sale for the treat
department.
- Ensure cleanliness of warehouse footprint.
- Receive and direct all warehouse visitors to the appropriate person to avoid any
unauthorized personnel in the building.
- Interview, hire, schedule, and terminate warehouse staff.
Skills:
- Able to efficiently operate all equipment deemed necessary to perform the job.
(To include forklift)
- Ability to effectively communicate with associates, management and customers.
- Ability to read, write and perform base math functions such as addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to use Microsoft office and Google products as Excel and Drive.
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.
- Must be able to operate effectively under stress of deadlines.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, handles and moves heavy
products throughout the warehouse, and safely operate heavy machinery.
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday, from 6:00 Am, to 5:00 Pm
- Normal operations are 4 day work week.
