Job Summary
The Animal Care Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of animals under our care. Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Maintain cleanliness in animal housing areas, ensuring proper sanitation protocols are followed.
- Assist in administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper techniques to minimize stress.
- Educate the public on animal care practices and responsible pet ownership.
- Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of terminology and animal physiology.
Skills
- Proficient in animal handling techniques,
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal care.
- Experience as a kennel worker, veterinary technician, or veterinary assistant is a plus
- Understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain hygiene standards during care routines.
- Ability to recognize signs of distress or illness in animals, utilizing critical thinking skills for appropriate responses.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and the public.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
