Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to pets while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires excellent animal handling skills and the ability to work with various breeds and temperaments.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and other pets.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any observed health concerns.
- Handle pets safely using appropriate restraint techniques to ensure their comfort during grooming procedures.
- Provide basic dog training tips to pet owners as needed.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming and/or a related field such as animal care or veterinary assistance is preferred.
- Strong skills in pet care, dog handling, animal restraint, and animal handling.
- Knowledge of various dog breeds and their specific grooming requirements.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor with animals.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners effectively.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing exceptional care.
- Certification in pet grooming or completion of a grooming program is a plus but not mandatory.
