Sales Associate

THIS IS A SALES ASSOCIATE POSITION FOR OUR SOUTH END LOCATION. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EVENINGS WEEKENDS.

To fill the Pet Wants Sales Associate role, you must strive to be an expert in canine and feline health nutrition, general pet behavior, and the benefits of the products we sell, to ensure customers see you as a trustworthy and invaluable resource. As the first and last point of contact with customers, face-to-face, on the phone, and via email, you must always deliver exceptional customer experience. You will assist our customers with making the right choices for their dog or cat, upselling and adding appropriate products, and making recommendations.

Sales Associates work in our stores (multiple locations) as well as *events. Associates process transactions at the point of sale system, receive the inventory, restock, clean, and help make our *housemade products!

• 1 year of Retail experience preferred
• A high school diploma is required. Working towards or having a higher education is a plus.
• 100% reliable, honest, punctual, and professional.
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable source of transportation.
• Comfortable and quick with technology and software.
• Confident driving shop vehicles (vans and *food truck) to and from events.
• Strong communication skills.
• A positive attitude and enthusiasm for helping others are a must!
• Ability to make quick and educated decisions.
• Must be a positive, uplifting team member.
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays availability is required.

Subject to lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for long periods of time.

*Working events at Farmers Markets, Craft Vendor Markets, and Holiday Markets will consist of driving booth and materials to event locations, set-up/break-down, managing the booth at events, and most importantly engaging our 2 & 4-legged customers.

*Pet Wants makes a variety of housemade products for pets such as beef jerky, pawtato chips, beef stew, CBD, and apothecaries. All Sales Associates are required to assist in the prepping and packaging of these items.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
