What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Custodian/Janitor (Monday - Friday) position at Pete and Gerry's Organics, LLC?
Overall Responsibility:
The Janitor is responsible for all work related activities in relation to the cleanliness of all restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, non-process halls, offices, lunch rooms, common areas and laundry facilities. The sanitation specialist must be prepared to balance his/her time given per production fluctuations to thoroughly follow all the established procedures for effective food safety protection.
Key areas of Responsibility:
- On time punctuality and good attendance
- Follow daily cleaning checklist to ensure all areas of the facility are cleaned and sanitized
- Empty all trash cans at least daily
- Launder uniforms, fold, put in employee lockers
- Wipe down surfaces, clean all floors in non-process areas
- Restock supplies (gloves, hairnets, paper towels, soap, etc.)
- Clean restrooms, breakroom, offices, locker room
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a production environment preferred
- Prior experience in cleaning preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Extended periods of time standing and walking
- Frequent repetitive reaching motion with both arms
- Frequent grasping with hands and fingers
- Frequent bending and stooping
- Ability to keep up in fast-paced environment
