Pete Dye Golf Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food & Beverage Manager to oversee the dining operations of our Golf Club. This role is crucial in ensuring that our members and guests receive exceptional service and high-quality food and beverages. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, communication skills, and a deep passion for hospitality. The Food and Beverage manager will be responsible for managing and leading the Front of House staff, assisting with all Club events, and maintaining the overall dining experience for our members.


Qualifications

  • Proven food and beverage management experience in a golf club/country club/hospitality venue with strong standards and systems
  • Experience managing others and leading a team
  • Flexible, patient, and adaptable management style
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of social etiquette
  • Strong technical literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend and evening hours

 

Duties

  • Supervises, delegates, and schedules Front of House staff
  • Have a passion and aptitude for teaching and training staff with positive motivation
  • Oversee training for Front of House staff on issues including service techniques, knowledge of menu items and daily specials, sanitation, operating procedures, and conflict resolution
  • Oversee dining operation and service for the Club’s dining areas and ensure staff is following correct “Steps of Service”
  • Ensure proper wine training and presentation with staff
  • Ensures proper opening and closing procedures are adhered to by all staff
  • Ensures proper handling of all guest check transactions and daily reports
  • Assist Food and Beverage Director with tasks such as ordering, inventory, and organizational practices
  • Review guest and member requests and concerns to determine a plan of action and provide solutions with urgency and a positive attitude. Report all complaints to Food and Beverage Director
  • Ensure that members are satisfied with food and service by engaging. Have a visible and respectful presence with the membership, be an exceptional communicator, have outgoing interpersonal skills, and have the maturity to instinctively know how to treat members and guests with a high level of service.
  • Ensure that all health and safety standards are adhered to within the dining areas
  • Work harmoniously with the Executive Chef and all kitchen staff
  • Assist Food and Beverage Director with organizing and executing all banquet events and understand all banquet operations and procedures
  • Assists in all areas of service when needed, including bartending, bussing, serving, etc
  • Other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Director


Education and Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in the hospitality industry preferred
  • Minimum of two years related experience in the hospitality industry with supervisory responsibilities
  • Multi-location experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety regulations
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management related to food service operations
  • Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
  • Strong communication skills to interact with both team members and guests professionally
