Job Summary : A Service Clerk (Deli) is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all guests. S / he are responsible for the merchandise in the deli department, which includes : receiving, stocking, preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, rotating, and merchandising the department’s products. Deli products include, but are not limited to : deli meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, dips, gourmet, and specialty items. As a team member of Pete’s Fresh Market it is important that Pete’s Four Pillars of Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service are always exemplified.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Must have a love and passion for deli items, with an extensive knowledge specific to the items Pete’s carries.
- Assist customers by providing knowledge and expertise; advising and guiding them to make the proper selection.
- Possess the knowledge and training of how to effectively use and maintain all deli equipment (ex. electric slicer).
- Assist all customers at the service counter with courtesy, professionalism and timeliness.
- Must possess full knowledge of sanitation requirements and regulations.
- Perform all clean-up duties that are required in deli department in an efficient and timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
