Peter James Development and Independent Living, a Behavioral Health Agency, is looking to hire a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) for the Akron, Ohio area. The Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) provides individualized case management services to assigned caseload of clients diagnosed with mental health disorders. The QBHS will apply interventions that focus on the individual’s ability to succeed in the community; to identify and access needed services; and to assist the individual with making improvements in school, work, and family functioning. This position requires collaboration with community resources and programs.
Responsibilities:
· Counsel and advise individuals or groups with Behavioral Health Issues
· Write daily progress notes on clients
· Develop and implement individual treatment plans
· Establish treatment goals and milestones with clients
· Prepare progress reports and letters for relevant parties
· Educate families and groups treatments and prevention programs
· Link clients to community resources and/or other school and family support
· Facilitate referrals to other healthcare or counseling professionals
· Keep Accurate and Medicaid compliant documentation
- Attend supervision, staff meetings, and training as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in case management, social work, or other related fields
· Experience working with an Electronic Health Record System of some sort
· Experience completing Medicaid Billable Progress notes.
· Experience in conflict resolution
· Compassionate and caring demeanor
· Ability to build rapport with clients
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with needs of populations served
· Must have Transportation, Valid License, and Insurance

Salary: $18.00 to $30.00 /hour
