The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project. This includes directing and supervising the work of project administration, superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain effective relationships with owners, subcontractors, etc.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a healthy safety culture and compliance with company safety policy
- Ensure the project meets or exceeds its financial objectives by overseeing and monitoring each stage of development
- Coordinate daily/weekly meetings with area superintendents and project engineers to develop means and methods, schedule contracting needs, and manage long lead delivery times
- Manage all field operations and work sequences in conjunction with the Project Executive
- Review project estimate or plan to determine estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections, review, approve, and negotiate change orders
- Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delays in production
- Evaluate and improve processes, ensuring quality and efficiency in project execution
Requirements
- 10 years' experience in managing construction projects with a proven track record of successful outcomes in infrastructure, bridges, docks, and marine construction
- Undergraduate degree in construction engineering, construction management, or a related field
- Ability to understand project scheduling and cost control, and read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
- Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done
- Good attention to detail, ability to recognize discrepancies
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organization/time management skills
