Position Summary
The legal professional will perform support assignments of a routine nature and of moderate difficulty. This position involves delegated substantive administrative and legal work. Organization and prioritization are key.
The position involves assisting Peter with keeping his cases well-organized, moving and frequently speaking with clients to answer the questions and relay accurate and detailed information in short order. The work is performed with a degree of independent judgment and actions.
Job Description
- Provide general administrative support including maintaining active calendars, scheduling calls and meetings, filing, scanning, copying, faxing and printing.
- Request and analyze medical records associated with claims.
- Communicate with the NYS Worker’s Compensation Board, attorneys, medical providers, insurance companies, and clients with discretion and promptness.
- Coordinate and arrange meetings and depositions.
- Assemble new files and maintain and update existing files.
- Maintain the firm’s legal filing systems and use of existing programs (primarily Microsoft).
- Maintain office supply and equipment inventories.
- Other duties as assigned.
