Job Summary:
PYHIT is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) to join our team at Baywood. The CRPA will work with Family Treatment Court as the peer advocate.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Peer Support: Provide one-on-one and group support, sharing personal experiences of recovery to inspire and motivate.
- Advocacy: Assist clients in navigating recovery resources and services, advocating for their needs and rights.
- Education: Conduct workshops and informational sessions on recovery topics, coping strategies, and life skills.
- Resource Connection: Help clients connect with community resources such as healthcare, housing, employment, and social services.
- Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support during crisis situations and assist in developing crisis management plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of interactions, support services provided, and progress notes in accordance with organizational policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with clinical staff, case managers, and other team members to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must be a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) in the state of NY.
- Experience: Lived experience with substance use recovery, preferably with experience working in a peer support role.
- Skills: Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build trust and rapport with residents.
- Knowledge: Understanding of recovery principles, peer support practices, and local community resources.
- Attributes: Empathetic, non-judgmental, patient, and committed to supporting others in their recovery journey.
- Other Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education in human services, social work, or related fields is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in a residential or community-based setting is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
