We are looking to hire a reliable and talented person to be our Diesel Mechanic. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, possess strong organizational skills, be self-motivated, and be dependable. This person must also be comfortable working on multiple projects at once; enjoy challenging tasks and be able to handle changing priorities.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparing work orders and communication with service advisors
- Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
- Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks
- Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts
- Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts
- Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
- Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have at least one year of verifiable employment
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Mechanic experience is preferred but not required.
- Heavy-duty truck experience is a plus.
- Experience in Customer Service
- Communications skills
Job Details:
- Full-time
- Day shift: 06:30 AM- 03:00 PM, Swing shift: 03:00 PM- 11:30 PM
- Monday- Saturday
- Pay scale:
- Tech I: $24.00- 27.60
- Tech II: $26.51- 31.60
- Tech III: $30.04- 35.60
- Tech IV: $ 36.00- 40.00
- Swing shift receives $2.00/Hour Shift Differential
- Non-exempt position
