The Primary Responsibilities of this Role are:
- Coordinates and supervises on-site MBE activities in project construction plan in collaboration with Project Superintendent, Steel Division Lead and Project Management
- When required, maintains construction schedule to include two to three (2-3) week look ahead, identify and solve problems, maintain estimated budget, insure quality workmanship conforming to original project plans/specifications, identify risks and resolve within guidelines established by PBC and Project Managers
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
- Promote jobsite safety, encourage safe work practices, documents and rectifies jobsite hazards immediately
- Prepare materials and calibrate machinery prior to performing building erection work
- Use cranes and telehandlers to hoist and position metal components into place
- Install fiberglass insulation and standing seam roofs
- Rig, hoist, and move metallic items within the work area to ensure correct positioning
- Guide metal loads into position by following set instructions
- Bolt and weld metal works together and ensure that all sections are leveled properly
- Perform steelworks dismantling for renovation or pull-down purposes
- Cut, melt, and weld metal sections and rods by using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment
- Force structural metal components into place by using tools such as crowbars and jacks
- Insert sealing strips, wiring and insulation materials, along with installing reinforcement bars
- Verify horizontal and vertical alignment of metal structures by using plumb bobs and laser equipment
- Erect precast concrete components for metal structures such as buildings, bridges, and towers
- Assemble hoisting equipment or rigging, including cables, pulleys, and hooks to ensure safe and easy movement
- Other duties as assigned
You will be successful in this role if your background and capabilities include:
- Proven experience as a metal building erector foreperson
- The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans
- Previous experience leading a crew and managing jobs
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Valid Driver License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
