Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team as the VP of Estimating in our Southern California office. In this role, you will be responsible for a team of estimators who prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for WTP, Bridges, Rail, and other heavy civil construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a strong background in estimating, and the ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors to negotiate favorable terms.
Duties
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for various construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Analyze blueprints and other project documents to identify potential issues and ensure accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and timelines, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to maintain cost control and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam for effective estimating and project management.
- Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid packages and responding to inquiries from bidders.
