What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Power Systems Sales Representative position at Peterson Power Systems?
Peterson Power Systems, a Peterson Cat company, has an immediate need for an Electric Power Systems Sales Representative to cover Alameda and Contra Costa counties. This position will combine technical knowledge with selling skills and relationship building to sell electric power systems to contractors and end users in assigned territory. Specific duties include the following :
- Responsible for the sale of new Electric Power Generation products in assigned territory.
- Prospecting new customers to develop relationships, identify key personnel and decision makers, understand how Peterson can support customer business and document and record in CRM.
- Follow up on quotes with customers to assure their understanding and to keep aware of project developments and purchase decision.
- Solve customer problems by applying mechanical and electrical principles to customer challenges by finding the appropriate solutions while paying close attention to issues of safety, reliability, economy and environmental impact.
- Maintain and improve relationships with current customers with business relationships with key personnel and decision makers. Making regular sales calls with multiple contacts at each customer location. Entertaining customers with lunch, dinners or sporting events, etc.
- Interact with colleagues from a range of departments and outside entities including; Project management, Project Engineering, the Senior Engineer, Contracts, Engineer Influencer, Credit, Service Dept., Caterpillar Reps, Vendors, Caterpillar Sales Managers and customers to ensure :
A candidate for the opening needs a Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college; and a minimum of two years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in industrial sales or service sales. Experience in electric power generation is preferred but not required. A candidate needs to be able to travel up to 70% local and regional travel with some spent overnight and be able to operate a company or personal vehicle as needed.
