We are actively seeking to fill maintenance positions in the Des Moines, Iowa area. The Apartment Maintenance Technician will undertake the responsibility of preserving and maintaining the physical integrity of the apartment community and facilities.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs in both occupied and vacant units including but not limited to:
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance needs and address proactively
- Resolve/complete work orders in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs independently
- General building maintenance including appliance repair, carpentry, painting and landscaping
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools, machines, and equipment
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area
- Assist with unit make readies
- Assist with maintaining grounds, including pools and snow removal
- Respond to after hours emergencies on a rotating schedule
- Other related tasks as needed at surrounding properties also owned/managed by Peterson Properties Inc.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position is required, compensation based on your experience
- HVAC/EPA Certification is preferred
- Must have your own basic tools and able to use a smartphone or IPAD
- Physical demands include constant walking, standing, climbing stairs/ladders and lifting up to 50lbs on a frequent basis.
- Time management skills, ability to multi-task, and prioritize work
- Successfully complete background and drug screening
- Ability to work an “On Call” rotation and respond within reasonable amount of time – Additional BONUS Pay applies
