Position Summary: The Admission Director serves as an advocate for patients and acts as a coordinator between internal and external referral sources, and the acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The Admission Director is responsible for establishing relationships with case managers, social workers, physicians, payors, and other referral sources. The Admission Director will ensure appropriate patient placement at Seneca Rehabilitation Hospital through clinical screenings, review of the medical records, assessments and consultation and collaboration with the hospital case manager and the Inpatient Rehabilitation Medical Director. The Admission Director works closely with hospital Case Managers/Coordinators and the acute inpatient rehabilitation admissions team to ensure a responsive and smooth flowing referral and admission process.
Qualifications:
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Must exhibit impeccable customer service.
- Must have excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Experience working in the healthcare industry (acute inpatient rehabilitation preferred).
- Must be an active listener.
- Experience in case management (desirable).
- Must have excellent computer skills and understanding of electronic health record systems (knowledge of Point Click Care and NetHealth desirable).
- Knowledge of insurance precertification/re-certification process is a plus.
- Knowledge of eRehab or UDSMR (desirable)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (must) and coding (desirable).
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be an effective time manager and multi-tasker.
- Must be able to function effectively within a matrix management structure.
