Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our Administrative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various accounting practices and principles, with the ability to manage financial records accurately and efficiently. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position offers flexible work hours and the possibility to advance into a full time position
Duties
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation and maintain balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Assist with bank reconciliations to verify the integrity of cash transactions.
- Assist in budgeting processes and provide insights for financial planning monthly.
- Assist in the reporting accounting tasks as required, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure timely filing of all necessary documents.
- Prepare payroll
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, general ledger reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
- Experience in governmental accounting (tax and regulatory reports) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and public accounting standards is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite and/or McLeod software.
