Pete's Tire Barns was founded by Peter A. Gerry in 1968 and has since grown into one of the largest independent tire dealerships in the country.
Today, we operate 22 full-service locations in New England, a state-of-the-art Distribution Center, 3 Bandag retread facilities, and employ over 300 people.
We have a fleet of over 100 service and delivery vehicles and our business primarily focuses on commercial truck tires and related markets.
We cater to various customers, from providing tires for wheelbarrows to earthmovers.
Job Qualifications
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in industrial tire service at customer locations is highly desirable.
Job Requirements
- Responsibilities include replacing worn tires on material handling vehicles at customer sites.
- Maintain and organize tire inventory in the warehouse and assist with other shop tasks as needed.
- Prioritize work orders, perform tasks safely, and ensure timely and accurate submission of paperwork.
- Safely remove old tires and position them on the press.
- Set up and operate a tire press to mount new tires onto customer hubs.
- Assemble wheel components according to tire specifications.
- Provide professional customer service and maintain company-provided vehicles and tools.
- Communicate with Industrial Segment Manager to ensure proper inventory levels.
- Learn mounting procedures, techniques, and equipment used for solid industrial tires.
- Operate industrial equipment such as forklifts, hydraulic presses, and tire mounting equipment.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical skills.
- Work overtime as necessary.
- Perform heavy lifting, bending, and climbing in and out of trucks.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Maintain a safe workplace.
- Maintain professionalism at all times.
- Perform other shop duties as required.

Physical Demands
This job requires occasional exertion of 75 to 125 pounds of force, frequent exertion of 25 to 75 pounds of force, and constant exertion of less than 10 pounds of force to move objects.
Frequent reaching, handling, and identifying colors are also required.
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling are involved.
