CDL Driver
Responsible for transporting nursery products safely and efficiently from the farms to various delivery locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load nursery products onto the truck, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Operate a commercial vehicle (Class A CDL) to transport nursery products.
- Unload products at delivery sites, ensuring they are placed in designated areas as per customer instructions.
- Follow designated routes using GPS and other navigation tools to ensure timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a safe driving record.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the truck, including checking oil, tires, and other essential components.
- Report any mechanical issues or repairs needed to the maintenance team promptly.
- Communicate professionally with customers during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Obtain customer signatures and complete the necessary delivery paperwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Previous experience as a CDL truck driver, preferably in agricultural or nursery product delivery.
- Familiarity with operating and maintaining commercial vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Ability to operate GPS and other navigation tools.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings and weekends, as needed.
