This position will assist and advise customers with the highest level of customer service to ensure the success of daily operations as well as the strategic goals of the Company. This position will be responsible for assisting customers in our Home Accents department with home décor, patio and other home furnishings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain customer service goals and objectives on a consistent basis, making sure that each customer has a great experience every time they enter and leave the store.
- Direct customers to store areas of need and make sure they are comfortable before you leave them.
- Advise and answer questions customers may have about products and/or plants, and if necessary direct them to someone who can better answer the question.
- Meet and work to exceed sales goals.
- Maximize each sale and ensure customers are aware of store promotions.
- Demonstrate superior phone etiquette as outlined by the organization and direct calls appropriately.
- Maintain accurate inventory by making sure all items are received and taken out of inventory properly.
- Make sure all merchandise is priced and clearly signed.
- Display merchandise in attractive/organized manner.
- Stock, refill and maintain merchandise in department area.
- Assist other departments when needed.
- Maintain neat, professional appearance at all times, including personal appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Execute any other tasks that department manager may assign.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of the Company’s Point of Sale (POS) system, basic Microsoft computer programs, Company e-mail and their capabilities.
- Previous experience with patio furniture sales and/or home décor merchandising/sales is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting and climbing at various heights may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
