Job Description: Puppy Kennel Technician
Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated and passionate Puppy Kennel Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and socialization of puppies in our kennel. This role requires a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Animal Care: Provide daily care for puppies, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications as needed.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and safe environment by regularly cleaning kennels, play areas, and feeding areas.
- Socialization and Enrichment: Engage with puppies through play and socialization activities to promote healthy development and behavior.
- Monitoring Health: Observe puppies for any signs of illness or distress and report concerns to the supervisor.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of feeding schedules, health observations, and any medications administered.
- Customer Interaction: Assist in providing information and updates to clients regarding their puppies and kennel services.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to ensure the well-being of all animals in the kennel.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a kennel or veterinary setting.
- Strong understanding of canine behavior and puppy development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and being on your feet for extended periods.
- CPR and First Aid certification for pets is a plus.
