As a pet counselor, you will be responsible for listening to the customers’ needs and assisting them in making the best decisions for their family and pets.

Skills Needed/ Preferred

• Consultative selling: This approach focuses on understanding the customer’s needs and providing solutions that meet those needs. It involves asking questions and building a relationship with the customer.
• Upselling: This encourages customers to buy additional products or services beyond what they initially intended to purchase. It requires good communication skills and an understanding of the customer’s needs.
• Referral sales: Leveraging your existing customers to refer new business to you. It’s an excellent way to generate leads and build trust with potential customers.
• Demonstrational: This involves showcasing our product to potential customers. Allowing the customer to see firsthand how your product or service can benefit them.
• Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with unexpected events.
• Attendance/Punctuality - RELIABLE FORM OF TRANSPORTAION, is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
• Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan

Responsibilities
- Provide counseling services to pet owners dealing with behavioral issues, grief, or other concerns related to their pets
- Offer guidance on pet care, training, and behavior modification techniques
- Assist in animal handling, restraint, and training as needed
- Conduct individual or group counseling sessions for pet owners
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals to ensure comprehensive care for pets
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and client progress
- Experience as a veterinary assistant, technician, or in a related field is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize and communicate effectively
- Proficient in animal handling, including heavy lifting and dog handling
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior
- Ability to provide emotional support and guidance to pet owners
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
