The Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and control processes within our manufacturing plants. This leadership role ensures that products meet the required quality standards and compliance regulations, while continuously driving process improvements, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.

The Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and control processes within our manufacturing plants. This leadership role ensures that products meet the required quality standards and compliance regulations, while continuously driving process improvements, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Recommend, develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures to monitor, control, evaluate and improve the quality of all products and processes within the company
- Provide direction, support, development and leadership to all plants and their local leadership teams in the areas of quality, sustainability and continuous improvement
- Develop systems, programs, and standards to maximize the use of raw materials and improve operational blend efficiency where possible
- Lead audits, assessments, and inspections to ensure continuous compliance and certification
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, applying lean manufacturing and visual management principles
- Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency improvement, with respect to both quality and operations
- Develop and coordinate supplier quality system with purchasing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering, and R&D, to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle
- Interact with all levels of company associates
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans
- Ensure that products meet or exceed customer specifications and quality expectations
- Manage and facilitate structured problem solving in all departments
- Prepare and present regular quality reports to senior management, highlighting performance, trends and improvement initiatives
- Stay informed on industry trends, new quality standards, and best practices
- Act as Management Representative for ISO 9001 Quality System
- Manage GMP, medical, and other quality related audits on a yearly basis
- Represent the customer in the selection of special characteristics and quality objectives
- Develop, implement and maintain SPC programs, where appropriate
- Develop and monitor quality department budgets
- Manage quality assurance department and associates
- 50% travel required
- Performs other duties as required by management
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or related field
- 10 years of area manufacturing management
- 5 years of quality assurance experience with 2 years of quality management experience
- ISO/QS 9000 Quality System Implementation and Management preferred
- Lean Training Certification, preferred
- Knowledge of extrusion, resins, and recycling
- Ability to lead and inspire in a team environment
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Experience managing a budget
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organization skills, task and detail oriented
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Quality System development, implementation and management
- Knowledge and practical application of Statistical Process Control
- Skills in Automotive Quality Returns and Customer Problem Resolution
- Strong MS Office and ERP systems knowledge
