Petra Construction Corp., a mid-sized general contracting/construction management firm based in North Haven, CT, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Office Cleaner / Construction Laborer to join our team. This dual-role position involves maintaining a clean, organized, and safe office environment while also supporting basic construction and labor tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to switch between office cleaning and construction labor tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
Office Cleaner:
- Perform regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
- Clean and sanitize office restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas.
- Maintain cleanliness in office workstations, meeting rooms, and hallways.
- Restock supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, and soap in restrooms and kitchen areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to management.
- Follow safety and cleaning protocols to ensure a hygienic work environment.
Construction Laborer:
- Assist with general construction tasks such as moving materials, cleaning job sites, and setting up equipment.
- Help with demolition, installation, and site preparation as directed.
- Support construction teams with loading, unloading, and organizing tools and materials.
- Operate basic tools and machinery under supervision.
- Follow safety protocols on construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized construction area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in office cleaning or construction labor strongly preferred.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.).
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials.
- Must be able to work in a construction environment (which may include exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions).
- Must be able to follow safety protocols on both office and construction sites.
- High School graduate/GED
