Office Cleaner/Construction Laborer

Petra Construction Corp., a mid-sized general contracting/construction management firm based in North Haven, CT, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Office Cleaner / Construction Laborer to join our team. This dual-role position involves maintaining a clean, organized, and safe office environment while also supporting basic construction and labor tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to switch between office cleaning and construction labor tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

Office Cleaner:

• Perform regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Clean and sanitize office restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas.
• Maintain cleanliness in office workstations, meeting rooms, and hallways.
• Restock supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, and soap in restrooms and kitchen areas.
• Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to management.
• Follow safety and cleaning protocols to ensure a hygienic work environment.

Construction Laborer:

• Assist with general construction tasks such as moving materials, cleaning job sites, and setting up equipment.
• Help with demolition, installation, and site preparation as directed.
• Support construction teams with loading, unloading, and organizing tools and materials.
• Operate basic tools and machinery under supervision.
• Follow safety protocols on construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized construction area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in office cleaning or construction labor strongly preferred.
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.).
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials.
• Must be able to work in a construction environment (which may include exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions).
• Must be able to follow safety protocols on both office and construction sites.
• High School graduate/GED
