Job Description
REPORTS TO: Retail General Manager
STATUS: This is a salaried exempt position for which no overtime benefits are received. Employee is expected to work hours necessary to assure store is operating in a manner acceptable to company standards.
SUMMARY: The Station Manager will oversee and direct all daily and general operations of the station in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
STAFF: Responsible for all station personnel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating and disciplinary actions of all station personnel as defined by company policy. Holds regular employee staff meetings to assure all employees are informed of requirements of their position and to address problems or concerns. Communicates with company Human Resource Director in regard to any personnel related problems and all hiring processes.
Responsible for all station inventory in accordance with established procedures; this includes ordering, receiving, stocking and monthly inventory counts. Oversee pricing according to policy of all non-fuel related inventory. Files claims with freight companies in regard to missing or damaged inventory. Communicates with Seward office inventory personnel in regard to inventory procedures, discrepancies and claims.
Responsible for daily accounting procedures according to Company policy including cash register control, counting and balancing of tills, operating cash and daily deposits. Completion of reports in a timely manner including daily shift report, recaps and fleet logs. Communicates with Seward office in regard to accounting policies and procedures.
Responsible for day to day operation of all station equipment including pump system, cash registers, vehicles, car wash (if applicable), etc. Also responsible for training employees in the proper use, maintenance and security of all equipment and assets at the station.
Responsible for station security to include control of keys and store opening and closing procedures.
Assure adherence to all regulatory compliance in regard to station operations including DEC, OSHA, EPA, etc. Report spills as required to the company Environmental Manager.
Assist with direct marketing, advertising and promotion of the station in accordance with programs established by the marketing department or as directed by the plant manager.
Responsible for overall customer service. Responds to customer and employee problems and complaints and relates problems to upper management when necessary for resolution.
All other duties necessary to operate the station in a safe and efficient manner and as required by company policy or management direction.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or proof of general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical repair manuals and procedures. Ability to respond to common inquiries or mechanical failure reports from employees, customers, or service providers. Ability to write and effectively communicate to facilitate problem resolutions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is an extensive physical position that requires constant mobility of varying types depending on the project. Individual may need to sit, stand, crawl or lie down as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to occasionally lift 75 lbs., routinely lift 50 lbs.
