We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of our projects by accurately assessing costs and providing comprehensive estimates. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for deep foundation construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with managers and construction teams to gather information on project requirements.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and Excel for efficient estimating processes.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms for the company.
- Estimate project budgets and costs.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in deep foundations, or a related field is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using estimating software is preferred.
- Working experience in Excel in required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills to identify discrepancies or potential issues in estimates.
- Must be able to effectively read and interpret blueprints.
